In 2007 Nike created an outdoor basketball tournament in Beijing, China. The size of the event involved over 5,300 teenagers and 1,340 teams. Nine teams won the right to represent the gate in their neighborhood at the semi-finals. The final tournament was held at the Hall of Ancestral Worship, in Beijing’s Forbidden City. They combined “pop-culture-meets-ancient turf wars as the kids of Beijing stand behind their gate.”

Google should launch (in few days) his own Ad Marketplace with « DoubleClick ». This marketplace will only concern Dysplay Ads and so Adwords won’t change. This Marketplace is still in testing phase by some Advertisers and agencies. « Ad Exchange » allows Website Owners to sell (as a bid like any other Ad Marketplaces) their unsold Ad spaces. They could also make it in an anonymous way just by pointing out some keys informations like the population targeted for e.g.
The marketplace would also accept other advertisements published by others Adservers.

Sometimes funny advertisement is not enough or not really appropriate. Especially for non-profit associations which have to « awake » the awareness of people about some kind of topics like social values, environment, public policy / health issue or personal ideals (e.g., urging drivers to use their seatbelts, promoting STD prevention, bringing awareness of racism and other injustices, or discouraging smoking among teens).
